Last weekend, Cincinnati, Ohio was host to its annual three day Bunbury Music Festival, held right next to the Ohio River at Sawyer Point. This year, the headliners at the Promowest-run event included The 1975, Wiz Khalifa, 30 Seconds To Mars, AFI, The Shins, Bassnectar, and Death Cab For Cutie. MOS contributors Josh Mason and Jacob Potzner attended the festival and brought along their cameras to capture some awesome shots. You can check out their gallery along with Josh’s account of his first time seeing AFI live below!
“It seems like it was just yesterday. The year was 2006 when I first heard AFI and their single ‘Miss Murder.’ I remember it clearly, when their music video was on MTV in the morning before school. My favorite scene was when Davey was on top of the building and just screaming his head off. I never thought I would ever get to see them live, or even have a chance to photograph them as well. Honestly one of the best performances I have ever seen in my life. To this day, they still have what it takes. Davey Havok was just jumping around and using the whole stage, running back and forth while hitting every note! The whole band was rocking just like when they first started. They might have aged, but they aged beautifully. I wish them all the best. And to keep rocking on!”
