North American rock band, The Used, has recently embarked on their 15 Year anniversary tour around American and some parts of Australia. The tour consists of two nights of shows for each city, the first night showcasing their self-titled album, and the second night showcasing their album ‘In Love And Death’. Both albums are played in full. California locals, New Language, are opening up on both nights. We were lucky enough to attend both of the Cincinnati dates. Read our review of the shows below, check out our gallery, and see where you can catch The Used on the remaining tour dates!

If you didn’t live under a rock in the emo scene of the 2000’s, you’ve probably heard of The Used. The band is known for having emotional lyrics that pull at your heartstrings while also keeping the hard exterior and sound that so many people love. And let me just say, they did not leave any of that out in their live shows. The first night the band played their self-titled album in order. Bert McCraken, along with the rest of the band, brought everything to the stage with this one. Just after the first song, he gave a speech about how music helps so many people and how he was happy to be able to connect with everyone on an intimate level just because of their music. Not gonna lie, I did shed a tear or two. That was the first of many heart-felt speeches from McCraken, and no one was complaining.

The second night The Used played their album ‘In Love and Death’ in full, and you could definitely tell this was the fan favorite. The set started off with a dark stage with only a red, beating heart being able to be seen. Once the band came on stage, the crowd went wild. This night felt a lot more lively and up-beat. It still held that intense emotional feel of the first night, but in a much happier way. They played my personal favorite song ‘I Caught Fire’ while I was in the photo pit and I couldn’t help but jump along with the crowd! They ended off the set with an encore, playing ‘Pretty Handsome Awkward’, leaving the crowd with an adrenaline-rushed happiness.

As mentioned before, New Language opened up both nights for The Used, and definitely did not disappoint. The rock group put on an energetic show that made you wanna jump around as much as possible. I would definitely recommend giving them a listen! The band is pretty new, but you can find them on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and iTunes!

The Used has a couple dates left on this tour, so if you can you definitely need to hit one up. The emotion and talent they still bring to the table is amazing. Check out our gallery below and see if the The Used is coming to a city near you!
