MOS Show Review and Gallery: Homebound EP Release Show

IMG_0748Friday night I was fortunate enough to be able to head to Newport, Kentucky to see Cincinnati local hardcore band Homebound play a show in celebration of the release of their new EP “The New World Disorder.” There was a full line up with fellow locals Spirit and the Bride, Under Everything, The Earth Laid Bare, Underestimate, and Grave Friends coming out to play sets of their own to support their friends in Homebound. The show started around 8 at Thompson House, and didn’t end until midnight! The entire night had a fun, light hearted feeling to it, with everybody meeting new people, hanging out around the merch tables, forming pits for every single band, and laughing a lot. Every single band brought everything they had to their performances, and when it was time for Homebound to hit the stage, they didn’t disappoint. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was when Homebound vocalist Jacob McClanahan brought his mom up onstage and read/sang a track from their EP called “Open Letter” that he had written for her. If you’ve never seen any of these bands live (or even if you have), it would really be worth the small ticket price to catch their next show. These bands work so hard and if we want to keep hearing great music with a lot of heart and having a place to belong, we HAVE to support local music. Check out a gallery from the show below, and pick up Homebound’s EP here.
