Hailing from Huntington Beach, California, Emblem3 is a pop band consisting of brothers Wesley and Keaton Stromberg and close friend Drew Chadwick. The boys got their big break on the X Factor USA a few seasons back, from where they went on to release a full length album, open for Selena Gomez on her Stars Dance tour, and a few tours of their own in there as well. Things seemed to be going really well for the group until bandmate Drew Chadwick announced his departure in 2014. That didn’t stop Wesley and Keaton from continuing on, well, at least for a little while. Things slowly seemed to fade for E3 until eventually we stopped hearing from them altogether. Now flash forward about a year and a half. The boys have been dropping hints for months now that the wheels were turning again and that Chadwick was returning to the group. Today, the trio dropped a new track titled Now. That’s right Emblems, you can breathe again. The song is the band’s first release by all three original members since their debut album Nothing To Lose in 2013.
If you’ve been a long-time fan of Emblem3, you probably know that their sound has changed drastically from the older songs they released before X Factor. And you probably know this is why Chadwick made the decision to split from the group. Well have no fear, E3 is back to their roots in this new track. My personal favourite lyric from the song: “Certain people tried to brand us without taking the time to understand us. I get the fact there’s a business plan but that shit damn near broke the band up.” This song is a strong comeback for E3 and an awesome way to show that they’re not changing for anybody.
Oh, and to the Emblems, don’t think they forgot about you. The song gives a shoutout to all the fans who have stuck by the band over time. “And this might seem random, but I gotta give a shoutout to the fandom. Been a couple years and you all stuck around and that means more than you’ll ever understand.” Awww how sweet.
Being a fan of Emblem3 myself, I am absolutely loving this song. It’s great to see a band stand up for what they believe in and they do just that in this tune. The future’s looking quite bright for these Cali boys….
